In our experience, we’ve seen sites with near-perfect lab scores still struggle in search because their CrUX data told a different story. However, real user monitoring gives you an accurate picture of how actual users experience your site across mobile and desktop devices.

You can run a core web vitals analysis for free using Google PageSpeed Insights and Google Search Console. Both pull real performance data straight from Google, and together they give you a thorough, in-depth analysis of your site’s performance.

  1. Start with Google PageSpeed Insights: Head to PageSpeed Insights and enter your page URL. This free tool runs an instant Core Web Vitals report and shows both lab data and CrUX field data side by side.   2. Then, open Google Search Console: Go to the Core Web Vitals report inside Search Console. It groups every URL on your site into Poor, Needs Improvement, or Good. This gives you a full picture of core web vitals issues across your entire website, not just one page.
  3. After that, dig into Chrome DevTools: Open Chrome DevTools on any page and run a Lighthouse audit.
